I can't think of any word that evokes the same images as the word Tuscany! It immediately brings to mind thoughts of sun-baked villas high on vineyard-covered hills. Rolling vistas and ancient little towns as dusty as they were millennia ago. And wine. Food and wine. And more wine. Pitchers and glasses brimming with some of the most drinkable and food loving wines in the world. Join us tonight as we tour Tuscany and uncover her treasures. In fact, it's this coming Monday! To honor the season - or is it just to get together and have a good time? - we're hosting a wine tasting of some new arrivals and vintages. Fall is a season of beginnings for the wine world; it's this time of year when wines are released to the market. It makes room at the wineries for their new, current harvest. We'll sample reds and whites tonight and even a wonderful rose from the Loire Valley that exudes images of a Parisian bistro. Don't wait too late to call and make your reservations. Attendees will enjoy dinner by the bite from many of the Tampa Bay’s finest restaurants and wine samples from some of the world’s best producers. There’s also an exceptional silent auction in Tampa’s only American movie-palace. This annual movie-themed fundraiser benefits The Tampa Theatre and is one of the area’s favorite wine tastings. Don’t miss it. Themed costume or elegant casual attire preferred. An Elvis costume contest promises tons of fun too! A fun evening for a great cause!
The Art of Wine Wine Tasting & Art Show ** Friday, September 26, 2008 7:00pm - 9:00pm $10.00 per person Wine is like Art. We like to think of it as drinkable art. Tonight we'll feature three artists who create wines fit for a gallery. They create a vision, an expression and a style for all to experience. These winemakers are passionate about producing wines of distinction and complexity. Susana Balbo of Argentina has made a name for herself in a country dominated by male winemakers. Chris Ringland of Australia not only has a history of producing cult wines, but also crafts affordable wines that critics and the public love. The Graham Beck family of South Africa is considered a pioneer for bringing its country's viticulture into the modern world. We'll sample their newest releases. **As a bonus, our featured artist shall be in attendance. We've highlighted the work of Nashville artist Gary English in the store for a couple months now. His rich, colorful vineyard-scapes from around the world both inspire and delight. This is a great time to have a glass of wine and meet the artist himself.
