Hints of undergrowth, vanilla, and dark berries in the nose. Well-rounded on the palate, with elegant tannins paving the way for a smooth, long-lasting finish with not the slightest hint of harshness.

Aromas of blackberry, tea leaf, clove and toasted hazelnut. It’s medium-to full-bodied with firm, silky tannins. Juicy dark-fruit and spice flavors lead to a long, layered finish. Very fine. Drink from 2024.

Deep ruby-hued, with spicy, complex notes of ripe cherries, mulberries, dried earth, and leafy herbs, the 2018 Château Martinet is medium-bodied and has a silky, beautifully balanced mouthfeel, moderate, ripe tannins, and a great finish. It shows plenty of classic Saint-Emilion chalky minerality with time in the glass and is a satisfying, complex, already impressive Saint-Emilion. Drink bottles over the coming 10-12 years.
