We chose Grenache Blanc to be the dominant white grape varietal at Halter Ranch because of its unique and delicate fruit profile, elegance and minerality. Reminiscent of wines of Southern France, this Grenache Blanc has aromas of orange blossoms, stone fruit, and honey with delicate flavors of honeydew melon, pear, and lime rind. Delicious on its own, this wine also pairs wonderfully with lighter meats, summer salads and anything from the sea. Blend: 77% Grenache Blanc, 15% Picpoul Blanc, 8% Viognier

Rounded aromas of Asian and Bosc pear are cut by lime juice and wet cement on the nose of this bottling, which includes 15% Picpoul Blanc and 8% Viognier. There is a lively stony quality to the palate, from wet gravel to slate, as well as flavors of honeysuckle and white fruit.

COMMENTARY: The 2017 Halter Ranch Grenache Blanc is an excellent wine, and one of the best examples of this grape variety from the New World. TASTING NOTES: This wine is bright, fresh, and lasting. Pair its lively aromas and flavors of dried peach and mineral notes with shredded smoked chicken tossed with lettuce, pickled scallions, and toasted sesame seeds.
