This white wine presents brilliant hues of pale yellow and green. Fresh aromas of lemon, lemon custard, basil, and anise are complemented by a vanillin thread, from the element of subtle new French oak. Lemon and lime citrus flavors follow, with the essence of pear. The toasted oak qualities from the barrel maturation have encouraged a full rich mouthfeel, along with the subtle creaminess of the sur-lie maturation. This sauvignon blanc is crisp with rich flavor.
Tasting Notes
91 James Suckling
Expressive nose with passion fruit, golden berries and fine herbs. Crisp and dry on the medium-bodied palate, which finishes with some bitter grapefruit and yuzu.

A portion (16%) of the 2021 Sauvignon Blanc Dollarhide Estate Vineyard was matured in wood, so there's a delicate hint of pencil shavings on the nose, accenting scents of fig, melon and tangerine. It's a bit riper and fleshier in the mouth than the estate bottling but still with excellent freshness and a bright, crisp finish. Best After 2022.

The 2021 Sauvignon Blanc Dollarhide Estate Vineyard is a more complex, serious white offering medium-bodied aromas and flavors of ripe lemons, sappy herbs, and a touch of minerality. This Bordeaux Blanc look-alike is going to shine on the dinner table and, I suspect, have 4-5 years of overall longevity, although there’s no need to delay gratification.
