Beautiful freshness and poise to this Gattanara with nutmeg, dried rose petals, saffron and cinnamon. A finely constructed structure follows with velvety, steely tannins and a spiced, chewy finish. Drink from 2021.

This 100% Nebbiolo was the winner in our viewer poll during our Italian Adventure virtual tasting. Gattinara is off the beaten path in Piedmont, far north right up against the alps. This one could use some air or some age - decant if you are drinking fresh. But it rewards with bright cherry, raspberry, leather, red flowers and lots of wood notes. Our viewers voted this one their favorite of the tasting.
