After years of drought, the 2017 vintage was a much-needed return to the wet winter conditions we expect from our coastal climate. Bloom weather was favorable and growth was steady throughout the spring. The summer and harvest seasons followed with several significant heat spells that pushed the speed of maturation and ripening. This resulted in a compressed two week picking window during which we harvested all our Russian River Valley fruit. At the core of our Russian River Valley blend are floral characteristics from the Goldridge soils at Last Stop and spicy characteristics from the alluvial soils at Westpin Vineyard, respectively.
