This shows aromas of ripe plums and blackberries with hints of black pepper, smoked meat and licorice. Medium- to full-bodied with chalky tannins and a dusty, polished mouthfeel. Vivid and crunchy with a dry, slightly chewy finish. Drink or hold.

A combination of Quinta Nova de Nossa Senhora do Carmo’s main grape varieties: Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz and Tinto Cão. 2020 was a demanding vintage, with low rainfall in the spring and sustained high temperatures from June to August. With a history dating back more than 250 years, this winery has been owned since 1999 by famed cork producer Amorim. Dirceu Vianna Junior: Forward, expressive, intensely perfumed, ripe blackberry, violet, chocolate and exotic spices. Great purity and superb fruit concentration. World class. Christine Allen: A fruit-forward, modern style Douro red with fresh red berries, cherries and damsons. Sumptuous mid-palate, lots of berry concentration. Valentin Radosav: Intense wild blueberry, plum and violet aromas, well balanced tannins and acidity. Shows lovely herbaceousness despite its youth and strength.
