Agricola Punica was founded in the early 2000s following the collaboration of two winegrowing families, the Sebastiano Rosa family and the Tenuta San Guido. The latter family holds the esteemed reputation for creating Sassicaia—arguably Italy's finest wine. The collaboration brought together over 200 hectares of vineyards ideal for grape cultivation.
Samas is named after the Punic or Phoenician God of the Sun. Vermentino and Chardonnay grapes grown in a predominantly calcareous and sandy soil are hand harvested at dawn to maintain characteristic varietal notes and freshness.
Bright straw yellow in color with green hints, this crisp and well-balanced wine has notes of citrus with Mediterranean herbs such as sage, and long mineral-saline finish.
Blend: Vermentino 80%, Chardonnay 20%
92 James Suckling Very floral wine, it smells like a spring garden, with green pears mixed with citrus fruit. Dry and crisp, with tension and vibrancy. Very savory, even though not too persistent. Drink now and enjoy its crispness. Screw cap.
