Babich Wines was founded on this love, combined with the respect and connection we feel towards the land. In 1916, at just 20 years old Josip Babich made his first New Zealand wine – under the name Babich Brothers. The farm practices put in place and the desire to produce the best quality wine lay the foundations for Babich wines. Three generations of wine lovers, who all want to deliver the best possible product, representing the best possible value, for every occasion.
Aromas of blackcurrant and citrus combined with white flowers, minty herbals and a touch of smoke. Initially, a strong, fruity taste - mandarin, red apples, passionfruit that then moves through the spectrum to lime, lemon and feijoa/herbals. Tropical and textured with freshness and length.
91 James Suckling The dried-citrus and apple character comes through clearly here on both the nose and palate. Medium-bodied with a pretty core of fruit and a subtle finish of candied apples. Drink now. Screw cap.
