Bodega Garzón is close to Punta del Este, La Barra, and Jose Ignacio – Uruguayan Paradise at its best, with mesmerizing landscapes. Located eleven miles from the Atlantic Ocean, our estate has more than 1,000 small
vineyard blocks covering its hillside slopes, which benefit from varying microclimates, different levels of humidity, and an intense canopy management. These factors allow the vines to develop with maximum exposure to the sun providing rich, expressive fruit. The vineyards are surrounded by lush forests, rocky soils, granite boulders, and naturally occurring palm trees.
The north orientation of this vineyard enhances sun exposure and light guaranteeing full phenologic maturity of the varietal. The 2022 Single Petit Verdot's intense violet-red colour and the aromatic black fruit and vanilla aromatic complexity highlight its full-bodiness in mouth, turning it into a perfectly harmonic wine, typical of its variety. This Petit Verdot perfectly pairs with grilled poultry as well as with traditional game meat: hare civet or a delicate rabbit confit with herbs. Bouillabaisse soup or tuna with tomato provide an interesting contrast highlighting its originality.
92 James Suckling Dark cherry fruit with hints of chocolate, tobacco, vanilla and iron. Linear fruit notes on the even, medium-bodied palate, with a saline savoriness looming large in the lengthy finish. Give it one more year to get the wood spices woven. Try in 2026.
