Bodega Garzón is close to Punta del Este, La Barra, and Jose Ignacio – Uruguayan Paradise at its best, with mesmerizing landscapes. Located eleven miles from the Atlantic Ocean, our estate has more than 1,000 small vineyard blocks covering its hillside slopes, which benefit from varying microclimates, different levels of humidity, and an intense canopy management. These factors allow the vines to develop with maximum exposure to the sun providing rich,
expressive fruit. The vineyards are surrounded by lush forests, rocky soils, granite boulders, and naturally occurring palm trees.
The clones planted in this vineyard block grow in a high mineral content soil. The site is refreshed by oceanic breezes which allow the fruit to fully develop and give a distinct character to the wine.
Of carmine red, this Pinot Noir is bright, elegant and expressive with aromas reminiscent of cherries and roses. Flavors of intense red fruits subtly unfold in the palate. The right tannin presence makes it an excellent wine in its complexity.
91 Gismondi on Wine Alberto Antonini drives the style here but with very soft hands. You don't feel it but surely appreciate this pinot noir when you sip it. The fruit grows on a high mineral content hill facing north that catches the cool Atlantic Ocean breezes. The vines are pruned to meet low yields before being fermented in concrete tulips. Then, it is off to untoasted 5000 litre French oak vats for 12 to 18 months. Dark cherry and earthy blackberry reminds you of New World pinot, but the persistent elegance lets you know it's made by folks who care for it, from vineyard to winery to bottle. A touch of tannins gives it enough structure to age through 2027 with ease. A complex pinot that surprises you every sip.
