Cà du Ferrà, meaning "blacksmith's house" in the Ligurian dialect, is a family-run winery founded in 2000 in Bonassola, a village on the eastern Ligurian Riviera, by Antonio Zoppi and his wife Aida Forgione, later joined by their son Davide. The vineyards, set on the typical Ligurian terraces overlooking the sea, cover 4 hectares and also include areas within the Cinque Terre National Park. Various grape varieties are grown, including whites such as Vermentino, Albarola, and Bosco, and reds like Merlot, Ciliegiolo, Syrah, Granaccia, and Vermentino Nero. The area's unique microclimate, characterized by mild temperatures and a constant sea breeze, helps the grape clusters grow lushly.
This Bianco Colline di Levanto DOP Bonazola is made from a blend of Vermentino, Albarola, and Bosco. The process involves direct pressing of the grapes, and the juice is then allowed to settle in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures.
A light straw-yellow wine with greenish reflections. On the nose, the scent is fine, with floral notes of broom, jasmine and lily of the valley. On the palate it is lively, savory, harmonious and with a long persistence. It is a wine that can be enjoyed throughout the meal, excellent as an aperitif, it also goes particularly well with recipes based on fish and shellfish.
