Cakebread Cellars is a family‑owned Napa Valley winery founded in 1973 by Jack and Dolores Cakebread, now recognized as one of the region’s most respected producers. Rooted in Rutherford, the estate farms roughly 460 acres across top Napa appellations and has built its reputation on quality, consistency, and sustainable vineyard practices. Known especially for its Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc, the winery also crafts Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, and other varietals that showcase purity of fruit and a balanced, approachable style.

The Sauvignon Blanc grapes are grown in the Napa Valley and the North Coast, including in our own estate ranches in Carneros, Napa, Rutherford, and Calistoga. The cooler, southern part of the valley gives us sauvignon blanc with bright citrus characters, flinty minerality, and balanced acidity, while the warmer northern region brings out tropical notes in the final wine.

This wine bursts with aromas of pink grapefruit, Granny Smith apple, kiwi, and honeydew, with a tropical lift of guava and lime zest. On the palate, bright citrus and green apple meet orange sherbet and lemongrass, with hints of tropical fruit. A refreshing acidity carries through to a balanced, lingering finish of citrus, melon, pear, and tropical notes. Very versatile as an aperitif or with fish, poultry, pasta, salads
