Nestled in the charming village of Saint-Romain, the story of Domaine Germain Père et Fils has unfolded over three generations. Each has left their mark—adding vision, dedication, and passion for the land and the wines of Burgundy.
The journey began in 1955, when Bernard Germain expanded the estate beyond Saint-Romain, acquiring vineyards in Beaune, Pommard, and the Hautes-Côtes. At that time, most wines were sold in bulk. His son, Patrick Germain, transformed the business by bottling the wines and introducing them at wine fairs, where both private customers and restaurants quickly embraced their quality.
Since 2009, Arnaud Germain has carried the family tradition forward, guiding the domaine through new vintages with the same commitment to excellence. Today, Domaine Germain Père et Fils cultivates 14 hectares of vineyards, farmed with sustainable practices, producing wines that reflect both heritage and respect for the land.
This Beaune Premier Cru is a blend of two lieux-dits: “Les Aigrots” and “Les Montrevenots,” the latter of which has 60-year-old vines. The wine has a bright cherry red color and offers subtle aromas of blueberry, cassis, red currant, cherry, humus, and undergrowth. The taste is on one hand refined and elegant, on the other full and powerful. It is already excellent to drink now, but also suitable for aging.
