Domaine Guiberteau is one of Saumur’s most exciting estates, a family domaine revived by Romain Guiberteau with a laser‑focus on quality. Founded in the early 1900s and shaped by the historic Clos des Carmes vineyard, the estate now farms organically—a commitment guided in part by Nady Foucault of Clos Rougeard. The result is pure, expressive Loire Valley wines that balance heritage, precision, and sustainable farming. The Clos de Guichaux vineyard is a monopole of Domaine Guiberteau, situated in the Bizay terroir near Brézé, in the commune of Épieds.
Citrus fruits, green apple, and subtle floral notes. On the palate, it is dry and medium-bodied, with flavours of ripe pear and a hint of honey. The wine is structured and mineral-driven, with a crisp acidity and saline finish that showcases its terroir.
Pair with seafood dishes such as grilled sole with almonds, lobster stew, and marinated mussels. Its crisp acidity and mineral profile also complement goat's cheese, olives, and fresh salads.
