From the vineyards of Gérard Bertrand in Languedoc-Roussillon, its name, “the great blue” in Spanish, gives a huge clue about what we will find inside, as well as its origin. The Méditerranée denomination in the south of France is bathed by the Mediterranean Sea, which moderates the climate and softens the hot summers. The influence of the sea breezes allows the grapes to retain freshness and acidity, while exposure to the sun ensures good ripeness and aromatic development. The soils, calcareous and silty with areas of marine influence, provide minerality, freshness, and a subtle saltiness, characteristics very present in this blend that is so representative of the French Mediterranean.
Cuvée La Grande Bleue embodies the spirit and beauty of the Mediterranean Sea, where generous sunshine and the mineral influence of the sea shape a unique terroir. This organic white wine highlights grape varieties that are emblematic of southern France, offering freshness and an aromatic palette centered on fruit.
Pale yellow in color, with slightly green highlights. The nose is expressive, developing white-fleshed fruit aromas (pear, peach) and citrus notes (lemon, grapefruit), complemented by light floral touches (white flowers, hawthorn). Viognier adds a subtle exotic note. The palate is lively and refreshing, marked by a beautiful minerality that recalls the influence of the sea. The attack is round and fruity, with notes of peach, pear and a hint of citrus. The finish is long, saline and elegant, evoking sea spray.
