Grgich Hills Estate brings together Napa Valley heritage and forward‑looking sustainability in a way customers can feel good about. Family‑owned since 1977, the winery was founded by Miljenko “Mike” Grgich—whose Chardonnay famously triumphed at the 1976 Paris Tasting—and Austin Hills, establishing a legacy built on curiosity, discovery, and uncompromising quality. Today, that same spirit drives their commitment to regenerative organic farming, with all five estate vineyards earning Regenerative Organic Certification in 2022. This holistic approach nurtures vine health, revitalizes the land, and results in wines that are vibrant, expressive, and consistently exceptional. Grgich Hills Estate continues to craft Napa Valley classics with integrity, innovation, and a deep respect for the terroir that defines them.
Mike Grgich has been called The King of Chardonnay since the winery began in 1977, and you can taste why in this classically styled wine. This unique Chardonnay does not undergo malolactic fermentation, preserving its natural fresh acidity. The wine has aromas of white peach, lemon, key lime, and coconut. The flavors open with ripe citrus, Meyer lemon, mandarin, pineapple, mango, followed by hints of oregano. It has a vibrant acidity and juiciness leading to a long, flavorful finish.
92 James Suckling Ripe yet restrained, this sits on the edge of reduction, showing aromas of yellow apples, grilled peaches, lemon curd and a touch of struck flint. The palate reflects the cool vintage with bright acidity and a layered feel, delivering baked citrus, toasted almonds and subtle spices. Rounded and fresh with a savory, lingering finish. Drink or hold.
92 Wine Enthusiast Vibrant, flavorful, and energetic, this wine delivers the lush, ripe fruits of its region with palate-stimulating structure and poise. Charismatic and well crafted, it combines ripe quince, lemon curd, lime zest, and grapefruit pith through a silken mouth- feel.
93 Decanter Silver in the 2025 Decanter World of Wines - Smoky matchstick notes on the nose; yellow fruit, lean citrus, stone fruit and a lean, vibrant minerality to the palate.
