Klein Constantia is one of South Africa’s most historic and celebrated estates, tucked into the cool, ocean‑influenced slopes of Constantia. Founded in 1685, it’s best known for producing fresh, elegant, mineral‑driven wines that reflect the region’s coastal breezes and steep vineyards. The estate’s lineup spans vibrant Sauvignon Blanc, refined Chardonnay, and traditional‑method sparkling wines, but it’s world‑famous for Vin de Constance—its iconic, naturally sweet wine once prized by European royalty. The overall style is polished, expressive, and unmistakably shaped by its unique maritime terroir.
Grapes for the 2018 sparkling were selected from a single block, one of the oldest located on the lower slopes of Klein Constantia. Harvested early in the season in numerous batches to ensure complexity in freshness, fruit and intensity.
Vibrant and bright in appearance. Fresh aromas of lime, grapefruit and green apple burst on the nose. Crisp and lively, the palate has a fine and elegant mousse. The palate is rich and concentrated balanced by flavours of toasted brioche and citrus fruit. The wine concludes with a long powerful zesty finish.
