Les Fiefs de Lagrange Saint-Julien (2016)

Red in color with purple hues, a complex nose, with a rich mouth typical of this great vintage of Fiefs! Cherry, blackcurrant, licorice, and pepper aromas dominate the palate but also with a cool roundness that brings with it a certain elegance. A long finish.

A beautiful St.-Julien that's got everything you expect from this appellation, from the elegant, moderately dry tannins to the ripe red fruit and the lively acidity. Second wine of Chateau Lagrange. Drink or hold.

The 2016 Les Fiefs de Lagrange is an absolute joy. Plaint and forward, with striking fruit density, the 2016 delivers the goods. Sweet red cherry, blood orange, mint and sweet tobacco add layers of nuance, but it is the wine's depth and purity of fruit that stand out. What a delicious wine this is.

The second wine of Château Lagrange, this has firm tannins and an elegant, ripe structure. The tannins and rich black-currant fruit are generously integrated, offering a rich wine that will develop well over the next few years. Drink from 2023.

This is a sexy, well polished wine, deep and rich with blackcurrant fruit and a ripple of freshness. There is nice balance, making for an easy drinking yet impactful wine. Effortless. Drinking window: 2027 - 2050

An open-knit style, with bright anise and açai notes out front, backed by cassis and crushed cherry fruit flavors. Shows a dusting of vanilla on the finish.

The 2016 Les Fiefs de Lagrange is the second wine of Château Lagrange. This charming, high-quality Saint-Julien has more herbal, earthy notes than the Grand Vin and offers lots of blackcurrants and black cherry fruits, plenty of tobacco and damp forest floor notes, medium body, sweet tannins, and loads of charm. It's nicely balanced and well worth drinking. It should keep for over a decade.
