Lieu Dit emerged in 2011 as a collaboration between friends in Santa Barbara who shared a long‑standing fascination with French wine traditions, especially those of the Loire Valley. Their early years were shaped by countless shared bottles and trips to France, which inspired them to focus on Loire‑native varieties in California’s coastal terroir. Founded by Justin Willett and a like‑minded partner, the project set out to explore how grapes such as Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, and Cabernet Franc could express themselves in the marine‑influenced soils and microclimates of Santa Barbara County. Today, Lieu Dit produces roughly 2,500 cases annually, emphasizing purity, site expression, and a restrained, Old‑World‑inspired style that reflects the founders’ original vision.
The wine is super elegant and high toned with great acidity. Lots of stoning mineral notes, citrus, melon and white flowers.

It concludes with a succulent, high-toned finish, accompanied by additional citrus flavors and flinty nuances.
