Owned by Ted, Laddie, and Christopher Hall, LMR employs an integrated, organic farming system, using simple, sustainable methods. Each part of the Ranch contributes to the health of the whole. Vineyards and wine making, olive orchards and olive oil making, cattle and horse breeding all work together in complementary fashion, as do the egg-laying poultry flock and the organic vegetable gardens. All crops are certified organic by California Certified Organic Farmers (CCOF) and are grown without the use of herbicides, pesticides, or chemical fertilizers.
Intense fruit aromas leap from the glass, revealing notes of sweet red berries, peonies, and orange zest, subtly framed by a discreet touch of vanilla. The 2022 vintage is medium- to full-bodied, velvety, and enveloping, with a cool core of fruit, melting tannins, and a saline finish. Its structural charm is immediately apparent, making this wine approachable now, though patience is likely to be rewarded. The finish is exceptionally long and precise, with floral notes of violet and rose petal layered with sweet Asian spices. A true stunner from the cool climate of Anderson Valley.
