Los Vascos is a historic Chilean estate in the Colchagua Valley, revitalized in 1988 when it became part of Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite). The winery spans a vast 3,600‑hectare property between the Andes and the Pacific, where abundant sunshine, cooling coastal breezes, and semi‑arid soils create ideal conditions for expressive, balanced wines. Known for Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenère, Syrah, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc, Los Vascos blends Chilean terroir with Bordeaux precision, producing polished, reliable wines that consistently overdeliver for the price.
Deep garnet color with violet hues. Enthralling aromatics with distinct notes of violetsand blackberry, complemented by hints of pepper, cold cuts, and a touch raspberry macaroons. The wine’s palate is powerful, with nice volume, gentle tannins, and livelyacidity. The aftertaste is reminiscent of a wide range of red and black berries.

93 James Suckling Spicy nose yet still elegant. Some grilled tarragon herbs to the red and black cherries. Some white pepper, cloves and a twist of fine sweet spices from the oak. Juicy and savory on the medium- to full-bodied palate with firm but polished tannins. Long and nicely saline. Very appetizing and balanced. Drink or hold.
90 Wine Enthusiast It has nice bay leaf aromas that blend with licorice and ripe berries. The palate feels velvety and full, with a tasty interaction between notes of tobacco, herbs, plums and blueberries. Notes of vanilla emerge in the finish.
