Marchesi di Grésy is one of Piedmont’s most historic and respected family-owned estates, with roots dating back to 1797 and a reputation built on expressing the elegance of its exceptional vineyards. Centered around the renowned Martinenga cru in Barbaresco, the winery is celebrated for producing refined, terroir-driven wines that balance power with grace. Today, the di Grésy family continues its tradition of sustainable vineyard stewardship and meticulous winemaking, crafting wines that showcase the distinctive character, complexity, and timeless beauty of the Langhe region.
Made up entirely of Sauvignon Blanc, the vineyards are located among the communes of Barbaresco below and in front of Martinenga, and Treiso. The fruit comes from three different parcels with three different exposures, south, north, and west. Once collected the fruit is destemmed and pressed followed by a cold settling of the must at a low temperature. The wine is fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel, before being left on selected lees for four to six months. The wine is briefly aged in bottle before release.
