Numanthia rises from the heart of Spain’s Toro region, its four vineyards stretched along the sun‑drenched southern bank of the Duero River. The estate takes its name from the legendary city of Numancia, whose people resisted Roman conquest for two decades—an enduring symbol of Spanish resilience, much like Masada stands for Israel. That same spirit runs through Numanthia’s 40 hectares of gritty Pliocene soils—sand, clay, and limestone that force the vines to dig deep and yield fruit of remarkable intensity.
Termes is the youngest wine from the winery. It is a single-varietal made from Tinta de Toro grapes sourced from old vineyards aged between 30 to 50 years, planted at an altitude of 700m in tiny plots scattered across the municipalities of Valdefinjas and Toro, on the slopes of the Duero River. The harvest is carried out manually at the optimal point of ripeness, with a rigorous selection of bunches in the vineyard.
The 2022 Termes is intense cherry red with ruby reflections. Clean and bright. Aromas of black fruit, spicy background with hints of black pepper and clove. Notes of rosemary, cistus and black licorice. Noble attack, ample, serious and balanced. Black fruits, light smoky background with hints of toffee, flint and cistus. Unctuous and pleasant, with a fresh and long finish.
