The French champagne house located in Reims has become one of the region’s largest champagne brands. Continuing the legacy of Madame Pommery, Pommery produces over 5 million bottles a year and attracts thousands of visitors to its beautiful estate. Pommery is a stand-out name in Champagne history.
Made from seven of the House’s emblematic grands crus, Pommery Grand Cru Royal Vintage 2009 is steeped in history by the nobility of its origins. In equal proportions, the Chardonnays of the Côte des Blancs enter into synergy with the great Pinots Noirs of the Montagne de Reims: two exceptional terroirs at the service of an outstanding cuvée.
Pale gold with delicate golden hues, signs of elegance and maturity. Exceptional brilliance. Very fine effervescence. Remarkably elegant, the first nose is discreet and very fresh. The first notes are floral and sweet, reminiscent of honeysuckle and acaia flower. As the wine opens up, it reveals fruitier nuances of dried figs and also frangipane. The Pinot Noir asserts itself a few seconds with aromas of violet and blueberry. Very straight and exceptionally mineral, the structure of the wine is velvety, reminiscent of Champagne chalk. The balance is perfect. Notes of lime blossom and flaked almonds mingle with the fig aromas detected on the nose. A sign of a great maturity after more than twelve years of ageing in the cellars, hints of toasted bread add complexity to this cuvee. The finish is a perfect balance between tension and gourmandize through a dash of pink grapefruit.
Blend: 50% Chardonnay and 50% Pinot Noir

91 Falstaff Strong golden yellow with silver reflections and a lively mousse. Delicate notes of light caramel and ripe yellow pears, with a hint of pineapple and cookie. Medium complexity on the palate with nuances of pome fruit, a subtle acidity and a hint of nougat. It's somewhat steely, with medium length and already developed.
