Rizzi Winery was founded in 1974 when Ernesto Dellapiana left his career in Turin to revive his family’s historic 19th‑century farmstead in Treiso, in the heart of Barbaresco. What began with the purchase of the Rizzi farmhouse and its surrounding vineyards grew steadily as the family added key parcels—including Cru Rizzi, Cru Nervo, Vigna Boito, and later holdings in Manzola, Pajorè, Podere Stella, and Giacone—building a mosaic of some of the Langhe’s most prized sites. Guided first by Ernesto and his wife Lia, and later joined by their children Jole and Enrico, Rizzi has evolved into a respected, family‑run estate known for marrying tradition with thoughtful innovation, producing expressive, terroir‑driven Barbaresco and classic Piedmontese wines that reflect deep love for the land.
A contemporary yet classic expression of pure Nebbiolo from Piedmont. Brilliant cardinal. Floral, fruity and spicy aromas lead to fine tannins and a juicy yet delicate body. Elegance in the glass.
91 James Suckling A fruity and vivid nebbiolo with ripe strawberries, cherries and hints of roses and dried blood oranges. Medium-bodied and dry but juicy and mouthwatering, with fine, supple tannins. Pretty, sleek and ready to drink.
91 Falstaff Bright, medium ruby red. Fragrant and fresh on the nose, with crisp cherry, rose petals and notes of lilac and bitter almond. Riper, sweeter fruit on the palate, with tightly woven tannins, concentrated and mouthwatering.
