The Santi Amarone ‘Santico’ is sourced from estate vineyards spread across multiple terroirs of the Valpolicella region. The crushing operations began in the third week of December. Thanks to an initial cold maceration lasting one week and a long fermentation of 4 weeks with maximum temperatures of 20°C, the characteristics of the grapes were enhanced, resulting in wines that are the most authentic and exclusive expression of their terroir. After fermentation, the wine matures for 30 months in French oak barrels with an average capacity of 25 hl and in French oak tonneaux. Before being marketed, the wine ages in bottle for 6 months.
Deep red color; rich and fragrant aroma with dominant notes of cherry and blueberry jam, accompanied by hints of plum, dried fruit, and cocoa. In the mouth, it is full-bodied with velvety tannins, round, pleasantly fresh, and with a long aftertaste. The hints of red fruit are accompanied by a pleasant sapidity.
Blend: Corvina, Rondinella, Corvinone
90 Falstaff Rich, shiny ruby core with a clear garnet-red rim. A medicinal nose of varnish, preserved cherries and rose petals. Flattering on the palate, sweet fruit and gripping tannins, warming and bitter on the finish.
90 James Suckling A spicy, dark-fruited wine with roasted black pepper, lead pencil and licorice combined with blackberries and plums. Medium- to full-bodied, it shows nervy, chalky tannins and crisp acidity. Needs more integration. Try after 2026.
