Warm days, gravelly soil, li le rainfall; these are ideal conditions for Tempranillo, Tannat, Graciano and Verdejo. Verdejo, the iconic Spanish white grape, thrives in our warm and rocky Dunnigan Hills terroir. The 2022 vintage is true to the varietal with aromatics that offer up a perfume of white flowers and ripe stone fruit. The flavors are a crisp burst of lime and fresh honeydew, white peach and nectarine. Barrel aging in neutral oak broadens the flavors with a hint of creaminess. Aging in concrete eggs heightens the flinty minerality for a finish that is taut, crisp and clean. Tinto Rey Verdejo is the perfect pairing for fresh spring rolls, ceviche or shrimp tacos.
