Villa Sparina was established in the 1970s by the Moccagatta family in Monterotondo, Piedmont, at the heart of the Gavi DOCG. The estate spans 100 hectares, with 70 dedicated to local varieties used for Gavi and Barbera. Their Cortese plantings yield a classic Gavi di Gavi as well as a Monterotondo cru. The area’s distinctive soils highlight Cortese’s natural acidity, savory mineral profile, and impressive ability to age, giving these wines their signature precision and longevity.
Pronounced dark-berry, cherry, some balsamic and wet slate aromas. Medium to full body, with plush ripe fruit and pleasing Barbera freshness.
