Besides making some of the world's best white wines from Riesling, Weingut Wittmann of course also creates magnificent Pinot Noir. Wittmann practices biodynamic winemaking and therefore works closely with nature to get the best out of their grapes. This symbiotic approach to their wines fits incredibly well with the delicate and porous nature of Spätburgunder. Without careful care and attention, it would turn out thin and uninteresting.

But Wittmann masters the task, and their Spätburgunder offers a fresh and elegant wine, full of fresh, tart forest berries and a delightful scent of autumn forest floor. A lean red wine that is perfect for serving slightly chilled.

In this fine 2024 vintage, Wittmann allowed their Spätburgunder Trocken to age 14 months in French oak barrels, resulting in a wine with a nice aging potential of 5-7 years from the harvest.
