Beautiful deep, dark color. Still reserved, the nose reveals superb roasted notes. These are followed by aromas of ripe red fruit, particularly fresh cherries. On the palate, the notes remain delicate. The wine gradually develops body while remaining very well-balanced. The hint of sweetness on the finish is characteristic of the 2019 vintage.
Blend: 58% Merlot, 42% Cabernet Sauvignon
92 Decanter Quite seductive heady fruit, nuanced and slightly perfumed. Lovely pink colour. Good juicy impact with soft, chalky tannins that coat the top and sides of the mouth. I love the focus on the aromatics as opposed to just the fruit with brambles, clove and liquorice stick nuances. Good persistency. Lots of work went into the Merlots in this vintage from both clay and gravel - not pushing them too far in order to retain refinement. A juicy, sappy and approachable second wine.
