Château Saint Andre Corbin, located in Bordeaux's smallest appellation near Saint Emilion, has a rich history dating back to the Gallo-Roman era. Letters from the Roman Consul Ausonius indicate its wine was served at Julius Caesar's table in the 4th century, and archaeological evidence suggests the current château is built over the original Ausonius Villa. Archaeological excavations have uncovered significant artifacts, including statues of Venus and Diana, now housed in the Museum of Aquitaine and the Louvre, respectively. Today, the estate is owned and managed by brothers Jean-Philippe and Jean-Christophe Saby, who continue the family's nine-generation winemaking tradition.
