Clos de Napa is a négociant-style label—sourcing fruit from premium vineyards across Napa Valley rather than from a single estate winery.
This particular Cabernet Sauvignon comes from two separate vineyards. The wine boasts a bouquet of licorice, underbrush, forest floor, plums, black currants and red cherries with hints of cedar, Asian spices and oak. Full-bodied and rich in texture.
Varietals: 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Malbec, 10% Petit Verdot
93 Wine & Spirits Rich, robust and generous, this wine’s ripe plum flavors have a dark complexity built on inky plum tannins, a sundried-tomato spice and woody stemminess that lasts. The acidity is integrated into the finish, keeping the flavors lifted and dynamic. Trevor Sheehan makes this wine at Precision Wine Company; last year, his 2020 Rutherford Cabernet performed equally well. Serve this one with lamb and olive tapenade.
90 Wine Enthusiast Lush and concentrated, this quietly powerful wine overflows with blueberries, raisins and mint backed by moderate tannins that lift without drying the palate. Blended with 10% Malbec and 10% Petit Verdot, the wine is surprisingly smooth, easy and enjoyable. Best through 2029.
