Gentilini is a small, family‑run winery on the island of Kefalonia with roots that trace back to 1593, when Marino Gentilini, an Italian engineer serving the Venetians, settled on the island and became part of its noble history. The modern estate began in 1978, when Spiro Kosmetatos returned to Kefalonia after time in South Africa’s wine regions and planted carefully selected vineyard parcels with the ambition of proving that the island could produce world‑class wines. Gentilini released its first commercial vintage in 1984, becoming one of Greece’s earliest boutique wineries and a catalyst for the country’s quality‑driven, small‑producer movement. Today the family continues to craft expressive, sustainably farmed wines—especially Robola—from their vineyards in southwest Kefalonia, carrying forward a legacy that blends deep island heritage with modern craftsmanship.
The name derives from the Greek word ρόμβος (rhombus), a shape long associated with magical and ritual properties, reflecting this wine’s ability to elate and delight.
The Rhombus Robola is an elegant and fresh white wine, with aromas of citrus and stone fruit, herbs and white flowers. Perfectly balanced, dry and smooth with mineral notes. Pair with seafood, shellfish, sushi, raw bar, and lemon sauces.
