Laurent‑Perrier offers a 100% Chardonnay champagne without added sugar. From a year when maturity allows a sufficient natural sugar content, Blanc de Blancs Brut Nature is an exceptional wine. Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs (Avize, Cramant, Oiry, Chouilly) and from the Montagne de Reims (Tours-sur-Marne, Villers-Marmery, Rilly La Montagne). The grapes are strictly selected to retain only those that have both a high potential degree and a low acidity, allowing the wine to achieve the desired balance without the addition of any dosage. Aged 8 years.
The wine has a white gold color with a fine sparkle. The nose displays minerality and hints of citrus. On the palate the wine is balanced and sustained with a finish that is fresh with notes of lemon.
The Blanc de Blancs is a true wine for gastronomy pairing well with the finest fish: sea bass with salt crust, scallops, grilled marinated squid with lemon, thyme, olive oil as well white meats such as veal tartare with ginger and lemon.
95 James Suckling Lots of white flowers with fresh and dried apples plus hints of bread dough. Asian pears. Medium- to full-bodied with density, velvety texture and a very dry finish. Flavorful and slightly bitter with richness, structure and class. 2016 base wine with reserve wine from 2014. Drink or hold.
93 Wine Spectator Crackling with chiseled acidity and a racy streak of minerality, this tightly meshed Champagne carries flavors of crunchy pear, white peach, oyster shell and pastry dough, plus accents of white blossoms, lemon pith and ground ginger on the refined, lively mousse. Salty on the lasting finish. Best from 2026 through 2031.
92 Jeb Dunnuck Always producing wines built on a base of Chardonnay, which is typically the majority grape, Laurent-Perrier had never produced a wine that was 100% Chardonnay until 2019, when they finally had the components and decided to make it non-dosage. A bright yellow sherbet color, the NV Champagne Blanc de Blancs Brut Nature is one of the first non-dosage releases for the house. Medium-bodied, it is powdery and fresh, yet retains a pure concentration of white citrus, lemon peel, salted pineapple, lemon-lime, and meringue notes. It’s chalky, with an energetic, frothy mousse and a lively feel throughout the palate, carried by mineral drive and the influence of Tours-sur-Marne, Villers-Marmery, and Rilly, which give the wine its versatility. It shows bitter citrus in a clean and crisp style, making it a very versatile Blanc de Blancs. They do not produce this cuvée every year; it comes from higher-maturity vintages with lower acidity, so it isn’t a regular cuvée in the range. It incorporates a large proportion of reserve wine, with 60% based on 2016 and 40% on 2014. Drink 2026-2040.
90 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate Disgorged without dosage in September 2024, Laurent-Perrier’s latest NV Blanc de Blancs Brut Nature is crafted from a blend of the 2016 and 2014 vintages, sourced from both the Côte des Blancs and the Montagne de Reims. Offering up aromas of lemon zest, jasmine and green apple, it is medium-bodied, taut and racy, with a spine of bright acidity and culminating in a precise, saline finish.
