The Broadbent 1997 Vintage is the second Port Declared by Bartholomew and Michael Broadbent. The wine was made by one of Portugal's great wine makers, Dirk van der Neipoort. The 1997 was partially fermented in the traditional granite "lagares", partially in autovinificators, some of the wine was aged in oak "Pipes" and the rest was aged in stainless steel (to enhance the fruit). The wine comes from 70 year old vines of predominately Tinta Roriz, Tinta Amarella and Touriga Nacional grapes.
