Robert Craig Winery is one of Napa Valley’s leading mountain specialists, crafting wines that highlight the purity, structure, and lift that high‑elevation vineyards naturally deliver. Working with sites on Howell Mountain, Mount Veeder, Spring Mountain, and the Sonoma Coast, the winery focuses on small‑lot, meticulously farmed fruit that expresses each mountain’s unique personality. A favorite among collectors and anyone who loves wines with altitude, elegance, and story.
The “La Fleur” Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of young vine lots from our Napa Valley Estate vineyards on Howell Mountain and Mount Veeder along with spectacular fruit from a singular property owned by friends in Sonoma County’s Dry Creek Valley. Just as “Flor de Pingus” and La Fleur Petrus are indicative of second tier offerings, so it goes with the La Fleur Cabernet Sauvignon.
The 2023 La Fleur Craig Cabernet Sauvignon exhibits deep, saturated color along with spicy, black fruit up front and a sturdy backbone of mineral and tannin. A significant amount of time in new French Oak barrels have rounded out the edges of this young Cabernet and given it a suppleness and integration that can’t be found with less expensive American oak or the dreaded barrel stave flavor treatment. Our La Fleur Cabernet is supple enough to enjoy immediately though it has the structure to benefit from additional cellaring.
