2019 was a lovely cool, fall for picking. Aromatics of fresh fruit pear, Granny Smith applesauce, yellow cherries, corrugate beautifully with the wines amazing spices, ginger and "cream puff" pastry complexities. The palate is perky big acidity, like tart citrus. The rich fruit kicks in with honey crisp apple, white nectarine folded in the yeast aged, spice component including delicate white flowers, white rose petal and pistachio. This wine is just how the winery likes it. Rich complexity in the mid-palate and a delightful lingering aftertaste.
92 Wine Enthusiast From its frothy mousse to its rich midpalate to the toasted filberts on the finish, this is a mighty fine traditional method sparkling wine. The wine's fresh citrus aromas of lemon curd and Key lime join notes of jasmine and ginger. Flavors like honeycomb, Marcona almonds and lemon pastilles are hard to resist.Editors' Choice
92 Decanter The Stalker is produced from fruit from the Wit's End vineyard in the Chehalem Mountains. The fruit is destemmed, but the berries are kept whole, and the stems are preserved under inert gas while the fruit does an extended cold soak are added back to the grapes before fermentation. The result has aromas of mulberry and bramble with floral and savoury accents. The structure is firmly tannic but not austere, and the rich fruit balances the tannic grip for a marvelously balanced finish.
91 Wine Spectator Rollin Soles’s Brut is lean and on point, smelling of yuzu, chalk dust and apple. The flavors are brisk and austere, the mineral notes finessed with pulse-quickening acidity. It simply races across the palate, a foil for oysters.
