Stags’ Leap Winery traces its roots to the late 19th century, when Horace Chase and Mary Nimrod established the historic property in 1893 on the eastern side of Napa Valley’s Stags Leap District. Over the decades, the estate evolved through periods of quiet and revival, ultimately gaining renown in the modern era for its elegant, terroir‑driven wines shaped by the district’s unique volcanic and alluvial soils. After Prohibition, the winery reemerged under new stewardship and steadily built its reputation for refined Cabernet Sauvignon and expressive Petite Sirah. The 2022 Napa Valley Cabernet has an inviting bouquet of warm spices and sweet oak, complemented by hints of mint and sage that add complexity and depth. Layers of red berries—raspberry, red currant, and blackberry—interweave with notes of vanilla, clove, and a cinnamon-spiced woodsy perfume.
