Tenuta Garetto was acquired by the Gagliardo Family in 2017. It is a very well-known and recognized spot for Barbera. It is located in Agliano Terme, in the heart of the new Nizza DOCG appellation. The estate has old vines planted between 1935 and 1950, as well as more recent vineyards.
The vinification of the Derthona takes place in the cellar adjacent to vineyards. The vineyards grow in the municipality of Montemarzino (AL), a very rocky soil that gives great freshness and minerality. The long aging on the lees gives depth and breadth to this Great Piedmontese white.
This Derthona offers a delightful balance of flavors, with notes of ripe fruit, floral hints, and a refreshing acidity. It’s a great choice for those who appreciate unique and lesser-known grape varieties.
