The 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon is deep red with purple hues. On the nose, dark fruits of the forest, mulberries, and cassis with hints of potpourri, nori and graphite. Full-bodied yet refined, the generous palate offers a core of inky berry fruits; boysenberry, blackcurrants and Satsuma plums, framed by subtle cedar and spicy oak characters. Dense and well-structured, the palate is layered with these dark fleshy fruit characteristics and ripe tannins which culminate through to a persistent Cabernet finish.
Blend: 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Malbec, 4% Petit Verdot
94 James Suckling The nose is perfumed and lifted, with notes of blackcurrants, boysenberries, violets, blueberries and mocha. The palate is full-bodied with finely grained tannins and focused acidity, showing tightly bound notes of potpourri, iodine, wild blackberries and mulberries, very fresh and focused.
94 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate The 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon leads with glossy black fruits, dried mint, licorice, pink peppercorn and blood plum. The tannins are chewy and supple and feel ultra fine in the context of the length of flavor and intensity thereof. Silty is another word. It's a lovely wine, from a very good Cabernet vintage in Margaret River. 14% alcohol, sealed under screw cap.
94 Wine Enthusiast Dusty tobacco, savory herbs and an umami note threads dense black currant and menthol. With quiet power and chiseled, cat’s tongue tannins, this is still young and tightly wound, but should unravel gracefully over the next decade. It’s the definition of a classic, polished Margaret River Cab.
