Duckhorn Vineyards was founded in 1976 by Dan and Margaret Duckhorn in Napa Valley, with a bold focus on Merlot at a time when Cabernet Sauvignon dominated the region. Their inaugural vintage in 1978 included Merlot from the now-iconic Three Palms Vineyard, helping to elevate the varietal’s reputation and establish Duckhorn as a premier producer of Bordeaux-style wines in North America.
Duckhorn Vineyards has been crafting Sauvignon Blanc since 1982, making it one of the earliest Napa Valley producers to champion the varietal alongside their flagship Merlot. Their approach blends Sauvignon Blanc with a touch of Sémillon, adding depth and a silky texture that sets it apart from more linear expressions.
On the nose, bright aromas of pineapple, melon, and lemon verbena are balanced by a subtle minerality. The palate is silky and lively due to the inclusion of Sémillon. Notes of tropical fruit are balanced by citrus tones yielding a juicy and energetic finish. Aged 5 months sur lie.
Blend: 91% Sauvignon Blanc, 9% Sémillon
