Dr. Jan Krupp was a San Francisco-area physician with a love of farming and wine. In 1991, he moved to Napa Valley, where he and his brother Bart began to develop vineyards, including the iconic Stagecoach Vineyard. Krupp Brothers selects only the finest grapes from premier Napa Valley vineyards, including: Stagecoach, Krupp Brothers Estate, and J2 — Dr. Krupp’s personal vines. Today, each wine in the collection — from the mountain Chardonnay to the Rhone-style Syrah and Tempranillo-based red — continues to embody the passion, vision and perseverance that Signature Collection has guided Krupp Brothers since the first vines were planted.

The 2022 Syrah offers an enticing nose with ripe blackberry and black plum, followed by anise, California bay leaf and a hint of dark chocolate. The palate is round and full-bodied, with a long, satisfying finish. The entrance bursts with blackberry, chocolate and a touch of cinnamon stick. The finish is both savory and unique, leaving lingering notes of smoky applewood bacon. Pair with duck breast with cherry compote, pappardelle in a wild boar ragu, or Dubliner cheese.
