Marqués de Cáceres is a family‑run Rioja estate founded in 1970 by Enrique Forner, who brought home the Bordeaux techniques he refined at Château Camensac and Château Larose‑Trintaudon. Rooted in Cenicero in Rioja Alta, the winery became a modernizing force in the region—reducing traditional oak aging, prioritizing fruit purity, and pioneering the use of high‑quality French oak. Today, under Cristina Forner’s leadership, the fifth generation, Marqués de Cáceres continues to craft elegant, terroir‑driven wines sourced from vineyards across Rioja Alta and Rioja Alavesa, standing as one of Spain’s most recognized ambassadors for contemporary Rioja.
Depending on the wines obtained each year they juggle with different percentages of each variety, producing a blend that they consider to be optimal. These three varieties - Garnacha, Tempranillo and Syrah - complement each other perfectly for those rich Mediterranean aromas and flavours. This vintage all of them are fabulous, and they have almost the same importance and weight in the blend.
This 2024 Carinena Red Blend has a distinctive character, somewhere between the mysterious and alluring, charming
and sophisticated with a convincing personality. Exceptional taste and forever fresh. Daring. 30% of this wine is aged in American oak for 4 months giving it greater length and intensity, making it very smooth to drink. Hints of oak are present but barely perceptible.
Blend: 50% Garnacha, 30% Tempranillo, 20% Syrah
