Pine Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon Traveler’s Series 2022 exemplifies the winery's storied tradition, established over 45 years in Napa Valley's Stags Leap District. This vintage is a sophisticated blend of 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Petit Sirah, 6% Zinfandel, 5% Merlot, 2% Malbec and 1% Cab Franc sourced from premier vineyards across three appellations - Solano (41%), Sonoma (36%) and Napa counties (23%).
This wine not only reflects the classic Pine Ridge style but also embodies the diverse terroir of its origins. Aromas of bright fruit flavors of wild cherry, strawberry, and fig primarily fill up the glass layered with sweet vanilla and brown sugar in the background. "Travelers" has a bright entry layered with quince paste, a lush midpalate, followed by a mouthwatering firm tannin finish. Enjoy over the next 10 years. With layers of fruit and firm tannins, this wine is a natural pairing with grilled meats and fire-roasted vegetables, and fowl cooked over an open fire.
Our Traveler’s Series is bottled in the lightest weight glass available equaling to a 34% reduction in carbon compared to other heavy wine glass bottles.
At Pine Ridge Vineyards, we are committed to being carbon neutral by 2050 and have taken immediate action to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions, improve our land stewardship, protect biodiversity, and continue to be a socially responsible, locally-engaged winery.
92 James Suckling Ripe dark berries, grilled herbs, licorice, ground cloves and walnuts on the nose. Full-bodied, dense and creamy, with velvety tannins and a fruit-forward, seductive aftertaste. Succulent and concentrated. Drink or hold.
91 Ken's Wine Guide This very dark ruby colored Cabernet Sauvignon based mid-tier wine from Pine Ridge opens with black currant and stony minerality bouquet with hints of stewed black plum. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, easy to drink and gentle. The flavor profile is a fruit forward black currant and black cherry blend with notes of black licorice and black pepper. I also detected hints of clove, oak, and stony minerality. The finish is dry, and its fruit flavors are nicely sustained. This Cab is a crowd-pleaser and was liked by all that tried it. I would pair it with a messy rack of Memphis styled ribs.
