If you like drama, you will love the story of the House of Heidsieck. From its beginning as Florens-Louis Heidsieck chased a girl to Champagne, to Henri Piper marrying his Christian Heidsieck's - his business partner and cousin - widow, to Florens-Louis Heidsieck chasing Marie Antoinette through Versailles convincing her to drink his champagne (and perhaps lend the shape of her left breast to inspire the shape of the classic coupe), to the family divisions that led to two fine houses bearing the Heidsieck name - it has a lot of character.
However, the leading roles are played by some amazing sparkling champagnes. In this tasting, brand ambassador Eddie Gonzalez will guide us through a tasting of both houses and share the history, similarities and differences of these amazing wines.
We will be tasting the wines below and the Piper-Heidsieck 2013 Rare Millésime Brut.
